Almost 680 pages! TBH I skimmed and skipped a lot of the last 130 pages because I needed a break from the voice, especially with the categories Abroad and Last Things (religious themes), the last one went especially far over my head. Interesting but a lot of the Irish humor-maybe 70%?-out of my depth. If I keep reading contemporaries though, they may explain each other. One can hope.

Wonderful, funny, heart-breaking, unforgettable. A truly great writer. If you don't already know him, read him.
