One of the funniest books I've listened to ever. Within the first 5 minutes I was chuckling (because I was at work) so much even my co-workers came over to ask me what was up. If you've ever needed a really good "feel good" story... this is it

I sort of like the beginning. But when we got to the chapter about joining the band, I got really, really bored. What followed was a chapter about taking magic mushrooms, then going clubbing to some place that had a "vagina room." That was the end for me. DNF. Once I stopped enjoying the "fish out of water" notion of travel, this book was a total loss.

This was a very inexpensive Kindle book and it had me literally laughing out loud in places. It's stories about a gay, sarcastic, southern American and his adventures in Tokyo teaching Japanese folks to speak English. Definitely worth checking out.

Great book. Really funny. It probably requires you to know at least a bit of Japanese culture before starting to read it, but it's a great book nonetheless

A gay language teacher's tale of life in Tokyo, enjoyable enough, but I wouldn't use it as an indicator of what to expect if visiting Japan.

Excellent book, I found it as a recommendation after reading "Hungry Monkey." He does swear in it but within the context of the chapter it makes it even funnier. Have to now convince my husband to take a trip to Tokyo.

I read this knowing it was a fluffy fun read, and that's exactly what it was. It felt like meeting up with a friend who you haven't spoken to in years who is overflowing with stories from their latest study abroad.

If you've ever lived in/near or visited Japan, this book is a must-read. The author recalls all of the quirks and traditions of Japanese culture that seem totally crazy to someone that's never visited Japan but totally normal to a person who's had the opportunity to live these experiences. I laughed out loud multiple times and definitely recommend this book to all of my friends who had the wonderful opportunity to live in this out-there country and are looking to reminisce.

Simple, yet enjoyable, with a touch of 'OMG! I totally know what that is!'
