This is a fairly short read (for a romantasy) in 288 pages, so I read it in one day. The page count also means the story happens real fast.
Was it good?.... eh?? Plot direction is weak until 75% of the book. World building is very shallow. The story IDEA is interesting, and that last 25% of the book is interesting enough to want to read the next to see what happens.
I didn't hate it, but probably wouldn't recommend it either. Too many better books to read out there.

It’s fine. The world-building and magic system don’t make sense. There’s not really a plot until the very end. But somehow I enjoyed this and ate it up.

Its almost as if she started writing an actual story and then just gave up and wrote nothing but shut. The characters are not developed and are all over the place.
