This book was thankfully back to what I love about these books, the whole gang operating together without wierd dynamics. Lucy felt more like her own person again, and even though she still cleraly fancies Lockwood it doesnt feel like her whole personality revolves around that anymore. I am still annoyed at Lucy's wierd irritated feelings for Holly, but much relieved they get along quite well in this book! Also that Holly, naturally , even misses Lucy, cause ofc she would miss not having another girl around. Thankfully George and Lockwood have stopped simping so hard for Holly as well and it feels like they treat her more like an equal and not some precious thing they want to impress. Quill kips joining the gang as well is brilliant, and I love how the whole story line is coming together in this book!

Something to note though that I have seen someone else mention, how come Lucy is not on the front cover on many of these books?? They are about her, arent they? Somehow Lockwood is doften depicted at the centret of the book, and Lucy, if there at all, in the background like she has the same precsense as George in these books. She is the goddamn main charachter!! Ugh!!! It's like Hermoine or Ron would be on the front cover of Harry potter, with Harry himself lurking in the background. Absurd!!

I think this book was probably the best of the series so far! I loved that cliffhanger, it was so good! I am highly anticipating my audiobook library loan to arrive for the final book of the series.

I think that Lucy had enormous character growth, she matured a lot and I liked her having more of a friendship with Holly than them hating on each other with all that internalized misogyny. I also liked Kipps coming into the group, I think that he was a good addition. The skull was definitely my favorite character, as always, because he is just unfailingly hilarious and ridiculous.

The plot was good, and I liked that there were so many things going on and how all the subplots tied together. This series balances creepiness, serious events, and comedic moments very well, and the character dynamics are very strong.

Great fun, thoroughly enjoyed the book throughout, though there is fat-shaming and a lot of shallow judgement in this series.
