UGH I wanted to like this book SO MUCH.
But I can't.
It was beyond cringe-worthy, and there was no character development.
I do LOVE Arthur and Ben's relationship, but it's just so cringe.
I have never audibly cringed at a book until this one, which makes me so sad.
I do think it was a nice follow up to the first book and it did end well that it doesn't make me want a third (that and I don't think I could mentally handle a third book).

100% loved this book. I’m glad we got a sequel too. I also bloody loved that the audiobook is read by Noah Galvin and Froy Gutierrez. Such a great combo. Much like the authors Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. A rom-com queer gem. Highly recommend.

Okay, I don't know why but I was not expecting to like this as much as I did even though I loved the first one and like both of these authors. Once again I feel like I come back to books when I need them without even knowing it. There are a number of things here that inspired reflection about my own life and relationship. The sentence "Mikey's the type of person who gets what he wants then panics" made me think a bit about Aldemir. I had heard something phrased like this before, but being afraid of what you wanted and actually getting it is a real thing. There was a theme about someone following a potential partner to a new city (!). In a conversation, one person said to their partner that they're good at the big moments but tend to get lost in between and not be as engaged. It feels like something someone could say to me. This is more of a journal entry than a book review, but I really liked this book and do want to buy it at some point.
I read the first book in this series and became obsessed with the story. I had no idea that a second book was coming out but once I found I copy I knew I had to read it right away because I needed more from Ben and Arthur. I am so happy to say that I ended up loving the second book more than the first one.
In Here´s To Us we follow the events two years after the first book. Ben has spent his first year of college working on his fantasy manuscript with his writing partner Mario. And Arthur is in New York for a dream internship on Broadway, with a boyfriend back at home that he couldn't be happier with.
After the first book I was a little angry at how things ended up, it made no sense to me. My happily-ever-after need part of my brain was so disappointed that the only reason I ended up reading the sequel was to see if the author did the right thing and gave me the finale I wanted. And oh boy they did. I don’t care if the book is messy, it is, but so is life so deal with it.
My favorite part about this book as with the first one, were the characters, however I have to admit that in this book both Arthur and Ben got on my nerves. Don’t get me wrong, I love Arthur and Ben but they spent more than half of the book denying they still love each other (when it was so obvious that they did) and they ended up hurting their respective partners for way too long. Aside from that, Dylan is still my favorite character ever and it was surprising to see that he was the character with the most growth.
The setting was still amazing, I love New York City and for me the best parts about the book were the places they visited. It felt as though I was in New York alongside the characters. The places the characters visit are very well described and it helps you to be fully immersed in the story.
I was terrified about not liking this book, I had so many expectations riding on it and it was very refreshing to see that my expectations were meet. I had a very nice reading experience and it was heartwarming to finally see these beautiful characters get the ending they deserved (and that we all knew was coming). Overall this was a very satisfying conclusion to a very cute series and I am very happy I gave it a chance.

Never a book put me in such a mood that I needed to rant about it! WHY????
