I’ve lost sleep over this book. I can’t get enough of the characters, Ben especially. Omg

Better than the first book. Working to normalize queer relationships so I can envision a happy, fulfilling partnership for myself after years of self-hate and guilt stemming from Christian moralism.

I didn't know if they could do it, but Albertalli and Silvera managed to pull off a surprising, satisfying conclusion for our protagonists.

i don’t know what i wanted out of this book honestly. i couldn’t even remember the characters bc it’s been a while since i read the first one, so that was tough. there were some cute moments, but this book felt like it was a way to make them endgame (which they should’ve been in the first book) and it felt pointless imo. there were some cute moments, but mario and mikey deserved better :(

I was so excited when I heard that a second book was coming for What if it’s us. Like Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, they did not disappoint me. However, it wasn’t as good as I wished it to be. There wasn’t a lot of character development and even the new characters seemed a little underdeveloped. On the flip side, I think this book was mainly to secure Arthur and Ben’s relationship and to see what the universe has in store for them. I wasn’t a huge fan of Mikey, and when Arthur dumped him after Mikey had just confessed his love, I didn’t totally enjoy that part. How Arthur executed the breakup just didn’t sound like the Arthur in What if it’s us. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed Mario and his relationship with Ben. It was quirky and funny, and was really enjoyable to read. Overall, I’m glade Ben and Arthur ends up together and I think the ending was very sweet and a perfect way to end a really well written series.

Cheesy but cute. A light, heartwarming queer story. Although quite corny, nice to read a story about gay love that isn’t all about tragedy. As with first in the series, not usually the type of novel I pick up but this series has been a fun break from my usual dark dystopian books.
