The story was too fast-paced to form any real connection with the characters. Both Stella and Beau felt like very flat, one-dimensional characters that didn't have any depth.

Stella and Beau had a very short timeframe of knowing each other, but ended up falling in love with each other. No, that's not unheard of, but them falling in love in the amount of time it takes one to drive from Florida to Texas is a bit of a stretch. And by the end, they're talking marriage when they haven't even been on a single date.

I truly wanted to like this book, but other than a few entertaining moments between Beau and his brother Blake, and Beau and his flashbang, I just wasn't feeling it. Which is disappointing because I loved her Writer Friends series.

This book is a solid typical cheesy romance. One where the main characters fall in love too quickly and everything is wrapped up fast. I had read the previous book a year or so ago. Of course I didn't remember completely but that didn't really impact reading this book.

This is a good filler read and was cute. I wish there was more too it but it didn't really matter much. If you love these type of romance novels then I recommend this book.

I loved this book, a great story and not just because it completes the rescue me book. I enjoyed this book finding I liked watching the relationship develop.

Has the Rachel Gibson humor, quirkiness, and heart. Good chemistry between leads but storyline felt rushed. I liked it but strangely feel unsatisfied about the ending.

I like a good ol' Navy SEAL or Marine special ops story as much as the next gal, but this one was only okay. It was a quick and easy read, but a lot of the humor missed my funny bone and the whole mafia storyline was left unresolved.

Some quibbles: Didn't like the line of reasoning that skinny, sensitive men weren't real men. (Ex: "Maybe Jeremy had been a little more metro than male, but he'd still been a man. Sort of.") As expressions go, "Holy frijole y guacamole" is a really dumb thing to have a Latina character say over and over. And to the best of my knowledge, Las Cruces is a high desert climate and is not humid.

So, I'm reading this series completely out of order, which is okay. I'm loving these books so far and I'm sad that I've got only one book left to read. Not sad enough to delay that reading though. I want to read it asap!

Rachel Gibson. I wait for your books. I love your stories. I love your characters. What happened to this book?? This book is bland. There is no story building or character building. I felt as if you wrote this book because you HAD to. Am so disappointed. I had huge expectations after your [b:Rescue Me|12929915|Rescue Me (Lovett, Texas, #3)|Rachel Gibson|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1327774104s/12929915.jpg|18085668]. After Vince and Sadie and their story this is soooo dull. The hero is sexually attracted to the girl because he has not been having sex from 6 or 8 months and he is royally frustrated not because he is attracted or liked her. And she?? She is attracted because sex topic arises??? Or something on those lines. There is no chemistry what so ever. And personally I think NO ONE, absolutely no one should come between siblings which she does. And next she is virgin and only because they have sex she expects him to love her and asked him to say the love word??? REALLY??? OHHHHHH am so disappointed. I read your [b:Daisy's Back in Town|7664734|Daisy's Back in Town |Rachel Gibson|/assets/nocover/60x80.png|3395] and [b:The Trouble With Valentine's Day|680170|The Trouble With Valentine's Day (Chinooks Hockey Team, #3)|Rachel Gibson|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1330265655s/680170.jpg|3400] so many times i lost count. Come ooooon. Am sorry but i had to write my frustration. I feel guilty for writing this review.

Beau Junger was just doing a favor, so why does he happen to be in a bar on drag night? He needs to give a message to Stella Leon and he can't change the circumstances. Of course when he pops her handsy boss after he doesn't take no for answer and now Stella has the mob chasing after her. Feeling a little responsible for the unpredictable woman Beau tries to rectify the situation, but even the former Marine can't keep a tab on Stella and finds himself falling for her.

A lot of fun. Beau is fairly stoic and snarky in the beginning which is completely opposite of Stella. I thought that Stella was a great character, she is a fighter but at the same time kind of a free spirit who just happens upon instances she can't control. Another wonderful read from Rachel Gibson.
