This was pretty cute. It was fun and had me smiling a lot. It was definitely weird in places and sometimes hard to understand but the audiobook for this is done with sound effects and THE BFG IS VOICED BY HAGRID so I guess you could say it's pretty great lol. I love audiobooks like this and the BFG was great to listen to from Robbie Coltrane. It made the whole thing so much better.
I wish I read this as a kid but I somehow didn't even know about it. It's still pretty great though.

The was another delightful tale by the master Roald Dahl. He really captures the wonder of a child's imagination in a way that few others can. The language in the BFG is marvelous! The BFG garbles words left and right, but they come out sounding better than the real words and are completely understandable in context. The story is simple, but fun and each step along the way is somehow both magical and logical. Sophie and the BFG may have an unusual friendship, but it really is the star of the book. A great choice for young readers!

I hated this book. At first, I thought the way the giant talked was kind of fun, but then it got really old, really quickly when all they were doing is talking. It became so tedious. Besides that, the story was just boring.

DNF!!
Couldn't get through this one. Not fair of me to start it I think. I thought it was one of those hidden meaning type thing, but I just can't read any more of the BFG's rotten english. I am not a kid, so I shouldn't have read this. I just thought it might be a cool thing to read, especially with the movie coming out next weekend. I'll probably still watch the movie, but am done with the book.
