OH MY FREAKING GOD!!!
The intensity of this book was simply unparalleled. From start to finish, I was utterly captivated by the tale of a lost princess, a crumbling kingdom, and its fervent rebellions. Holly masterfully wove a narrative rich with magic and the allure of a hidden city, pulling me out of a long-standing reading slump. Now, the thought of waiting two months for the next book is almost unbearable.
The spice? The plot? The characters? And the betrayal? Yeah, I live for that shit!
Holly, I implore you—please release the next book as soon as possible. My desire for the continuation of this story is no longer a mere want; it has become an absolute NECESSITY!

I am soo ready for the next book!!!
adventurous funny medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

This book was not good. The writing felt like fan fiction. Poor pacing, poor character development, terrible world building, the entire plot was a trope. I would have DNFed but it served as a decent distraction from the presidential election.

I loved this book!

I thought it was too short, honestly. I did listen to the audiobook version though, so I feel like that may distort my idea of what long is.

The slow burn was great. The book was way spicier than I imagined it would be. I'm looking forward to reading book 2! I'll probably get the KU version this time though, since I feel like I didn't get the same effect with the audiobook.

I really enjoyed this slow burn, enemies-to-lovers fantasy.

The angst and animosity between Nyra and Dacre are quite addictive, and secrets, lies, and long-built tensions threaten to them at all turns. Dacre is commandingly sexy, and Nyra more than holds her own against the accusations and threats, all the while hiding her real identity.

This book has set the series up, but I wish it had been longer with more build-up and explanation. Hopefully more will be revealed in the next book!

So besides him treating her like shit publicly, embarrassing her several times to come off as a badass, he still fucks her for revenge in the end? that was 10-0 very quickly. Forgive me, but if a mmc doesn't crawl through the fmc I want him far away. This guy is shit with muscles.
