I’m sorry, but what did I just read?? I only finished reading this because it was a book club book, otherwise I would have dnf it so fast. No world building, no characters had a defining characteristic, and the end was just trash.

This whole series has me in a chokehold (and Decre would probably approve) could not put this book down. The spice is literally relevant to the plot. A beautiful betrayal. Cliff hanger was a chef's kiss, especially because book 2 was out so it was a crisp 30 seconds of unknown.
4.5 ⭐️ The “who did this to you” trope is just chefs kiss and Dacre DELIVERED.
I have to review this book and my God my God my God.... Only one word comes to mind Dacre and Dacre, it got inside me I couldn't help what it was doing.... Someone here turned up the heat. .. Believe me Dacre will enter your head and heart, he will be your new favorite bookish boyfriend... DACRE is the best.
Holly has the ability to narrate a fantastic world that you will be able to see in your head as if it were a film. This book won me over for the plot, the characters... the tension that will make you devour the pages and the dialogues between the characters. With Holly even the secondary characters are made sublime. Obviously my rating is 5 stars if not ten. I'm just sad that I have to wait so long for the second one..

I think there is a fine line between enemies to lovers and a bully trope and this rode the line throughout and then definitely crossed over. I didn’t love it but I will be immediately starting the next one.
