This book was so unbelievable with all the "accidental" / fortunate things the main characters did/got away with.  Plus, in terms of the audio version I found the putting on the Russian accents and trying to talk like a man and a child annoying sounding.

I absolutely loved this book. I don’t think anything under 5 stars does this book Justice. I loved that the ending didn’t feel rushed. It didn’t go “well that’s how it ends, okay y’all bye, till next book and plot twist- the end”. The book is fast paced but still ended with scenes from the next few days. And a taste of future. I loved it and found myself laughing and in shock. The plot twist had me second guessing the whole time. Am I slow for night figuring it out? Idk, you tell me when you ready it. I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ audio book was great and easy to follow along with. Have the physical as well and have to finish annotating it . I love Vero’s character & how she can be so oblivious sometimes.

Review: This book is hilarious. The characters are well developed and she had me guessing the whole story. This is the first in a series so I wonder if some of my suspicions will develop more in the following books.

Synopsis: Finlay Donovan’s life is falling apart. After an awful morning, she meets with her agent at a local Panera to discuss the book she is supposed to be writing. A woman at a table nearby hears their conversation and based on what they are saying, she assumes Finlay is a contract killer. She leaves a note at Finlay’s table hiring her to murder her husband and shenanigans ensue.

The first half was 5 stars, but then the introduction of Nick and the relationship just didn't make sense. The author clearly wants the reader to ship the MC and the bartender but threw in this character and kind of had Finlay leading him on even tho she clearly liked someone else just so the book she's writing would reflect real life without involving the bartender. I just don't think that relationship was done well and by the end of the book, while I want to find out what happens with the cliff hanger, I don't want to continue with these characters and I have a feeling the second book is a lot more focused on romance based on the fact that the second half of this book was. Also I can't believe
Finlay told him everything? That is so stupid? Why wouldn't he turn around and go to the police? He literally said they don't have any legal binding for him not to and she definitely broke a lot of laws. It would only make sense if he had a backstory similar to the situation, but like I said we literally know nothing about him, which now that I'm think about it is super weird?

Anyway, I liked the first half and the mystery plot and shenanigans but the romance took over the second half and wasn't well written imo.
