Holy HOTNESS.

The cover… *chefs kiss*

James Hunter is my favorite Ivy Smoak character to love, so I was giddy to get inside his head in this book!! If you have read any of the other series, you know how much James struggles with himself, and this book gives you a glimpse into what is going on inside his head. Even during those sexy… sexy scenes. *fans self*

I was nervous that it wouldn’t be different enough from Temptation (this is his POV from that book) but it had so much “new” content!! Of course the dialogue was the same, but seeing it from a completely different point of view made it all feel new. Excellently done!!

I wanted to smash everything in my house with the ending….. so looking forward to the next book!

Absolutely yes! I am looooving Professor Hunter and his obsessive thoughts over Miss Taylor! I couldn’t put this book down and can’t wait to jump right into the next book!

I originally rated this 3 stars, but after thinking about it, I have moved it to 2 stars. I’m really not sure how this has such high reviews… It reminds me of Bridgerton, where if they would have just talked when there was conflict, the story would have been done in 20 minutes. They would run and ignore each other the second they got upset. So annoying… I get the author has to make a story out of it, but the emotional immaturity was too much for me. I have no interest in continuing with the series.

Ugh, this book was torture to get through. Apparently I’m a glutton for punishment, because I don’t dnf books.

This book starts with a bc implementation pages about a rich professor who was miserable. He didn’t like his stiffness who all had a crush on him and was an all around grouch. He didn’t have to work because of how rich he was, he even had private security and a personal chef. For some reason he still chose to work.

He instantly goes from talking about how the students all have crushes on him but wasn’t in to, then 2 pages later he swooning instantly over a girl he met in campus.

Obviously they end up in a relationship. The whole book he keeps saying he has this “dark past” and is keeping huge secrets from penny. After reading the whole first book, there’s not a single hint towards what it could be.

The story was boring as hell and super repetitive. They fought immaturely and had sex over and over again. There wasn’t any character growth.

I honestly love me some smut, but the scenes were so boring I skipped over half the sex scenes just trying to get through the damn book. There was so much repetitive trying and lots of fluff that could have been left out.

Per usual the fmc was rich and showered her with gifts. The fmc was innocent and incredibly immature.

I don’t recommend.

Breathe.

I'd genuinely forgotten just how drawn to these characters I was when I first read The Hunted Series. I haven't had chance to re-read and remind myself.
But let me just say, I was pulled strait back in like I'd never left.
Only this time there is so much more context to situations we saw in Temptation.
So much more insight into a beautiful, tortured soul.
So much more pain than we got to see before.
These characters truly feel like home now that we're back with them once again.
And in true Ivy fashion, that cliffhanger was expected, but still infuriating!
I can't say much else without giving away any spoilers, so I'll just wrap up this review by saying if you read The Hunted Series and loved it, then you absolutely NEED this book in your life!!!
I'm so pleased there will be 3 more from James's POV. Roll on the next installment!
Absolute 5⭐ ride back into the wonderful world of James & Penny.
100% recommend this book

I usually love a good professor/student romance, but Obsessed didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I was expecting an older professor—at least mid to late 40s—but he’s only 27?! That threw me off right away. The story had its moments, but both characters got on my nerves at times, and I didn’t feel super invested in their connection. The only twist that really stood out was towards the end when she reveals her true age—that was decent, but overall, it was just okay. Not bad, but not memorable either.
