No rating.. I wish I knew this had something to do with The Hunted Series and I read that first. I do not re read books ever and I hope Temptation isn't a repeat of what I just read . How this ended, I need to see what happened. Ugh...

Obsessed with James

I think I may need to stop reading Kindle Unlimited romance. This was...not good. I am giving it two stars because I did finish it and it was a pretty quick read. At times, I found the story entertaining.

BUT - there was so much I did not like. First of all, the MC (Professor Hunter) is the love interest's professor and this dynamic is not handled at ALL ethically (if such a thing is even possible). He makes her think that he's changed her grade from an A to a C in order to make her mad enough to come to office hours and have sex with him. Repeatedly, it is clear that their relationship has an effect on her grades, despite him saying that he would not treat her any differently. I also honestly have NO idea what he likes about Penny. Essentially, it seems like Professor Hunter thinks Penny is super hot, likes that she's innocent but bad ~only for him~, and can breathe when he's around her. Of course, he's a grumpy billionaire and she's a small-town college student who doesn't know how hot she is and isn't after his money

Ok lets start off with..this was HOTTTTTT! To start, this is the story of how James and Penny began from James' point of view. This book may not be for most, but I always love reading about student/teacher realtionships (let's be honest....we all have had at least one professor/TA we dreamt about in college). I won't lie and say that this book tempted me in an instagram add telling me to get it before it was removed again and boy am I glad I did. I first bought it digitally and the first few days could not stop reading it at work and then I ordered the physical copy and could not put it down once I got it. James and Penny's story is rocky to say the least, but there is something so broken about the two of them that makes you root for them harder. They are both hiding secrets from each other and each time they dodge answering to them, you just want to scream, cry and get mad and make them discuss everything! This book ends on a cliffhanger and I immediatly had to pick up Temptation, which is from Penny's point of view, just to see if things ended happily and much to my dismay and excitement, I had to get into Addiction, the second book in the series to really know what happens at the end of BOTH of those books. I've never read Ivy Smoak before but let me tell you, she is not an author to sleep on. They are easy, addictive reads that leave you wanting more every time (and I've only read 2 books so far but trust me from the lack of sleep I've been getting just trying to finish these books, I mean every word of that). I seriously can't wait to get my hands on The Light in My Darkness books (ordered today) because I know I am going to finish the next 3 in the next week (and I just found out that there is a 5th Hunted book between Devotion and the Light in My Darkness and if I have to read before the Light In My Darkness and wait for May 12th for that book, I may not physically survive!).

Having this book from James' point of view was good to see how he handled his attraction for Penny. It also gave us an insight into James and his struggles from his past. This book answered some questions that I had during Temptation but still left me wanting more.

Unfortunately I wasn't a huge fan of this book. I think its because I have already read about everything from Pennys perspective.

Loved it!!

I loved being able to dive in to Professor Hunter’s head. Reading the conflict, lust, pain, and love through his mind brings their relationship with one another in to a whole new light. It wasn’t all one sided. So glad this was finally released! Well done Ivy!

Holy crap, Ivy nailed it. I LOVED reading Penny and James’ story through the eyes of Penny in Temptation? but I’m loving this even more! Ivy grew so much as a writer from when she wrote Temptation and this book is

I was not sure what to think going into this book but it kept me hooked from the beginning. The ending came way too fast and I was in shock of how it ended. I'm ready to start The Hunted Series and excited to see what happens!
