I enjoyed the parts where Long John Silver was involved, other than that it was a boring read.

Couldn't remember if I had read this or not, so when I saw that Dad had downloaded the free Kindle version, I decided to read it on Mom's iPad. Surprisingly short, but obviously a classic.

This review is for the Audible audio drama of Treasure Island. The core of the story is so instantly recognizeable in all pirate stories since then, and the audio drama brings to life what isn't necessary all that fleshed out in the text: more motivation for Silver and the pirates, and more getting into class differences between the gentlemen and the pirates... To the extent that I had to look up some things that I was impressed by and realized were additions for the drama lol.
So while it mostly stays true to the original text and uses much of it, I think the audio drama is an improvement over the text from the perspective of a satisfying journey and character development.

The definitive pirates tale. A raucous journey surely to be enjoyed by any swashbucklers at heart.
