I just had a feel for reading a pirate novel and realised I've never read Treasure Island so here we are.
This was just such a fun romp and classic adventure novel, you can see how it spawned countless number of adaptations and references. As with most classics, the language is older and the pacing is slower but don't let that put you off. Over here we run the whole gamut of pirate tropes - adventure, treasure chests, X on maps, shipwrecks, rampant alcoholism, mutinies and double crosses, and of course, Captain Long John Silver with his parrot and one legged stump.

What more could you ask for?

It is my own fault for reading this for the first time after finishing Black Sails. I’m not sure what it says about this book that every adaptation I have seen is a huge improvement to the original text.

I guess I'm just not a ten-year-old boy in the 1800s, ya know?

Fikk boken i julegave i det herrens år 2010, av min gudmor Hanne, og leste den først nå.
Tok tid, men bedre sent.
