I didn't expect to really enjoy this one. Kept thinking about the old Disney movie and assumed it would be kind of bland. Boy, was I mistaken. This didn't feel like a juvenile book at all. Very good.
What a great classic and presented in an entertaining way. I read this book several times over the years but this 'version' was both fresh and new to the adventure. The main character, Jim, has complicated relationships between the captain, the doctor, and long John Silver. Its interesting to see how he maintains his character among such men.
I highly recommend the classics to everyone and this is probably one of the easiest ones to get through. Understanding each character and their social economic status still holds true today. People are always blinded by greed and maintaining your character will be challenging even for the best of us.

I didn't understand a single thing going on in this book.I did it for a book report when I was younger so I decided to re-read it again and I was always totally zoned out and way thinking about other stuff while I read this book. I know lots of people that love this book and I feel kind of bad that I didn't like it. I've also heard people say that guys like this kind of book way better than girls because its "a guy's book". I don't think this is true. I happen to have a very short attention span but I know girls who love this book.
I recommend this book for people who like adventure, and fairy tales.

3.75 Stars – A Swashbuckling Classic with a Few Rough Seas
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson is a timeless adventure that has rightfully earned its place in the literary canon. With pirates, buried treasure, and high seas drama, it delivers all the excitement you’d expect from a classic tale of daring and danger. The character of Long John Silver is especially compelling—charming, menacing, and endlessly unpredictable.
The pacing starts off strong, and the early chapters are engaging, pulling readers into young Jim Hawkins’ world with ease. Stevenson’s ability to create atmosphere and tension is impressive, and the moral complexity of the characters adds depth to what might otherwise be a straightforward adventure story.
However, some parts of the novel do feel a bit drawn out, and the middle portion drags slightly with slower action. Modern readers might find themselves wading through certain chapters rather than racing through them.
