This book is a classic for very good reason. I knew the story - I've seen enough parodies and recreations - and I'll admit I expected the novel to be stuffy. But no - it was adventure at its core with perfect pirates and constant action or intrigue. And listening had a good pace.

It was fun. I'll be reading again.

Listened to an audiobook of “Treasure Island” by Robert Louis Stevenson on Hoopla. 3.5 stars. Found myself having trouble staying focused enough to really understand the plot and characters but got the overall gist. Cultural references like Long John Silver and phrases like “Shiver my timbers” and “Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum!” were neat to discover. Also was surprised so many men died in this story, wasn't expecting that.
