Coelho provides yet another beautifully written piece, taking the seekers of this world on an emotional and spiritual journey that will not soon be forgotten.

I really wanted to like this but couldn't get into it. Quit reading for now.

Was this really written by Paulo Coelho? I love his books. Just adore them. I've re-read the Alchemist so many times I had to buy a second copy. I love the Fifth Mountain. This, to me, was self-indulgent and really just boring. I had to force myself to finish it. Did he really really write this? Disappointed.

I very much enjoyed Paulo Coelho's Aleph. The writing is taking us in his journey to bringing a new sense/faith in his life as well as on a trans-siberian train. Thought provoking and at times bringing the reader towards uncomfortable territories (past lives, astral plane type of experiences). Putting aside whether we believe in magic or past lives, I enjoyed the questions about faith, life, meaning and choices that the reading brought me.

It wasn't as good as I've expected. It's a story of Coelho's search of inner peace and forgiveness. Since it is placed on a Transsiberian railway I wish it had more depictions of the landscape etc. Instead he tries to convince us about his idea of time, past lives and spirituality. So, if you are not inclined to these kind of ideas, I would not recommend it to you. But if you like Coelho and would like to know a bit more of him, it could be an interesting read. Just be aware that there is a story about him & a 21 year-old.

The closest I've felt to Coelho , considering all his works. At the end, you'll feel a tad incomplete but aleph transferred me into Coelhos universe . As always

Maybe it was the translation, maybe not, but I almost didn't finish this book. To those wondering whether or not to read Aleph, there are too many good books out there to waste your time on this one. I only gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because of some good, yet unoriginal one-liners.

Unfortunately this one missed the mark for me. It was hard to follow and I didn't like it.
