I really wanted to like this but it just fell kind of flat for me. It was a little hard to follow bc of how many characters were introduced at once and the author used way too much “teen slang” as if she thought that’s how people young people talk but didn’t actually dig into it that hard to see if she was using it right.
Overall, it was entertaining enough, and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s into books or movies that require you to suspend your disbelief a little in order to appreciate the full experience.

Despite having some plot points that were easily surmised at the start of the book, this was a fun ride! There were still surprises tossed in, the main character was easy to root for, and mostly it just hit all the right notes for a fun, light heist novel.
Easy read with lots of twists and turns. There HAS to be a sequel. I'll be in line to read it and see how the next step plays out. #1 Rule- Don't trust anyone!
This had everything I wanted and more. On the edge of my seat until the very end, and MY OH MY did that ending get me. 4.5 stars rounded up.
Fast paced and super fun to read!
Definitely picking up the next book whenever it comes out

I love heist novels, and this is a fun one! Ross Quest ends up in the Thieves' Gambit, a competition of daring heists. Ross can't trust anyone, but sometimes alliances need to be made to get the job done. The contestants soon find themselves split into two teams working together to get to the next challenge. This YA novel has something for everyone - daring escapes, romance, humor. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel!
Thieves' Gambit is a fast paced page turner, perfect for fans of The Heist Society.

Entertaining read, but since the main characters were 17, some of the places they snuck into wouldn't have worked in real life. At one point they even get called out by someone for being at an event that was "drinking age and above." If the characters had been in their early twenties it would have worked better.
Otherwise a fun, quick read! I also enjoyed the additional layers of friendship and family issues which added depth to the story. I look forward to the next book in the series (especially with the cliffhanger ending in this one!)
