It’s a quick read, I started it while working with a student at a library, so I would recommend if you are just getting started with reading in your adult years or if you are an avid reader don’t get your hopes up but it’ll keep you entertained for a couple of hours or less depending on your reading pace.
Ashley Grant has taken a 1-year paramedic job on the distant Caribbean island, Victoria and Albert Islands, to get away from her troubles back home in Canada. She has barely been picked up off the plane and she's off to work. Turns out it's too late, it's the father of a girl she went to high school with, and she blames it on her stepmom. Ashley feels that she needs to find the truth for this acquaintance from childhood...
I didn't realize this story was so short when I started it - I think I read it in slightly over an hour this afternoon! There just wasn't much time to develop much but just the essential plot details. I want to learn more about Ashley, outside characters, and the islands! Hopefully in the next book...
I'll go 8 of 10 for enjoyment and 5 of 5 for readability. If you are looking for a short & sweet cozy mystery, check this one out!
