I did not get anything out of this book. No takeaway, no lesson learned. The first 100 pages were really interesting, after that the plot was absolutely lost and random and switched every 150 pages or so. Just nothing of substance. What was even the point

A very interesting concept that is explored in ways I was unable to predict as a reader. I found myself wanting to see more of this world explored by the time I finished the book.

Picked it up based on previous reads. The premise seemed ridiculous from the start but kicked right in at p51. Actually said “oh fuck off” out loud haha

At the beginning this was very interesting but maybe 160 pages in I was not enjoying the story or plot. Skipped to the ending and it didn’t seem to be very good or make much sense.

I love this author but had a little trouble with this book. Definitely an interesting premise to the story. I had trouble relating to the children's world, however, maybe it's because I haven't had children.

So many ideas in this early-career Liu novel reappear in much more sophisticated form in Three-Body Problem!
