2.5 ⭐️ Even though I did not like this book, it certainly did not deserve all the hate it got. There were some redemptive moments, and the author’s prose was oftentimes gorgeous. BUT, it was very predictable and very heavy. Perhaps in a different novel, with different characters, I would appreciate this author more. I’m still willing to give Rebecca Mix another try.

I absolutely adore the book. I adore the way the underlying mental abuse was woven into the story and addressed. The characters are wonderful, I love Percy. The betrayals and plot twists made it a good read. I hope there's a sequel. Or maybe even to have it made into a Trilogy.
