AMAZING. I adore adore these characters and the world. We saw much less of Wren, who was my favorite character last book, but Oak managed to win me over. It has the classic everyone backstabbing everyone, betrayal followed by comfort, and true love wins it all.

I didn't care much for a couple of the side characters, they either only helped to serve the plot or I felt nothing for them when they were on page. The characters I already knew and love were here, but very underutilized.

Also, I do feel like it needed more development on Wren's side of the story, now that we didn't see her POV. Still, the emotional conflict between Oak and Wren pulled at my heartstrings. I love their angst and how they came to love (but not trust) each other.

It was still a good read and a classic Holly Black staple book. It's a good finale to the duology (even if it did leave me wanting more of them together). I can't wait to read the next Holly Black book.
