I couldn't put this down. Games and trials but with vampires. Our FMC Oraya is a human set on winning the Kejari in hopes to granted a wish from the god Nyaxia. In a fight to the death with vampires, the odds are stacked against her. This book had everything i could have wanted and left me with my mouth open staring at the wall.

The settings are described so incredibly! I found the book a bit trope-y and predictable—until the end! The way the book sets up the rest of the series pushed this from a 3.5 to 4 for me.

It really felt like the author took slow burn romance and thought let’s apply it to the whole book. I read this for a bookclub and wouldn’t have finished it otherwise.

Meh, the plot beats feel like a paint by numbers of other romantasy books. I also don't believe Oraya's journey to caring/trusting Raihn. It felt like it happened too fast with not enough evidence of the growth on the page.
