Sped through this book! Wasn’t too sold on the ending, but thought it was interesting. Overall very good writing though!

I love Cooke's books! This text had a grip on me from the very beginning. I find that multiple perspectives always have me racing through the story to get to the next big thing.

The only thing that took away from the story were a few errors with editing (punctuation or spelling). Otherwise, I absolutely recommend this!

One of my favourite CJ Cooke novels. Both Nicky and Dom’s stories were interesting to read and kept my attention. Would recommend reading!

Below will be spoilers that go into detail about the content warnings:

Animal death and cruelty:

hunting whales and other arctic animals and birds

Vomit:

mentioned several times but not in graphic detail

Rape:

while the act itself if not described in detail it is mentioned throughout the novel and is quite present.

Violence:

physical, emotional, and sexual violence are present throughout the novel in both Dom and Nicky’s stories. Very hard to avoid. The acts of violence are not described in graphic detail but are explicit.
