This was a brutal and haunting story about trauma and the impact it can have on ourselves and those around us. The plot kept me on the edge of my seat and the characters kept my heart crying the whole time. The twist comes to light eventually and because the characters you follow don't see it coming neither do you.

I enjoy CJ Cooke's books in that shallow sort of way that I binge-read sub-par mysteries occasionally. This was a fun one but oh lawd, I wish they'd get the author a better editor to remove all the weirdly repeated sentences. Overall, fun but don't read without looking at the content warnings.
