A lovely mix of political intrigue and myth. It really gets you hooked on the world, and makes you want to read what the other books have to offer. Amazing for being less than a hundred pages long.

Okay, first of all—assassin Medusa??? Say less. I was already sold before I even cracked open the first page. I mean, we’ve got deadly glances, daggers in the dark, sapphic tension, and an Olympus dripping with secrets and betrayal. YES PLEASE.
So here's the scoop: Medusa is basically Athena’s secret weapon. People whisper her name like she’s the boogeyman, which is honestly kind of iconic. She’s cold, calculating, and totally terrifying… until she’s sent to kill Calypso. Cue record scratch.
Enter Calypso: beautiful, smart, and way too charming for her own good. She’s supposed to be the mistress of Odysseus (ew), but when Medusa shows up, she doesn’t beg for her life—nope. She seduces the would-be assassin instead. As one does.
And let me tell you, the chemistry? Chef’s kiss. That whole “I’m here to kill you but now I might be falling for you” thing? Classic. And it works. I was giggling, kicking my feet, and also mildly concerned that Athena would barge in and ruin everything (she kinda did).
BUT—and here’s my one tiny gripe—I wanted more. More backstory, more time with these two deliciously messy women, more of Olympus and its dangerous politics. It felt like I got a really tasty appetizer and then the waiter just… never brought the main course. Like don’t tease me with morally gray lesbians and then leave me emotionally starving!
Still, Stone Heart was fast, fun, and full of sharp knives and sharper banter. If Katee Robert ever decides to give Medusa and Calypso a full-length novel? I’m first in line. And I’ll probably be throwing drachmas at her like it’s my job.
Would recommend to: Anyone who loves assassin lesbians, Greek mythology with a twist, and morally questionable women falling in morally questionable love.
Now excuse me while I go and read other books in this series.
