Ah this.... well to put it frankly, it whips ass. I think some of the stuff went over my head, due to me not knowing what a bible is among other things. And the classical stuff could get a bit, i dont know, I felt lost in it at points. But Lavery is a great wit, and a great craftsman of emotion resonance. He knows where he wants you, and you go where he asks. Does that make sense? No? Okay sorry. You should read the book anyway even if you also don’t know what a bible is

A few sections of this book were honestly so incomprehensible to me that I skipped them, particularly when they drew heavily from books I haven't read. But most of it is funny, thoughtful, and poignant - and as a Bible nerd, I loved the use of biblical exegesis throughout.
