First, this story does not involve the Buddha. At all. It’s peddled as a unique take on The Buddha’s life in an autobiographical way but it’s not thing of the sort. This story involves a man who is adjacent to The Buddha and harbors the same human name as well. But the protagonist in this book is not the actual Buddha.

The author of this book seems to be projecting themselves into the protagonist and even had the protagonist “meet” The Buddha. There’s little to no development of the protagonist or other characters other than the obvious of the protagonist essentially growing up before the readers eyes as he abandons the risky behavior and crassness of his youth on his journey of enlightenment.
