This was my favourite Carley Fortune book so far! I enjoyed that they slept together initially and then you still got to see how their relationship built over the next five years. I absolutely fell in love with Felix. I also lived on PEI for four years and this book did a great job of transporting me back there. I also loved how much of an emphasis there was on the friendship. That love felt just as important as the romantic one.

I would say 3.5 stars, but since that’s not possible I’m rounding up because the author writes a good story. Did you ever read a book and wish for it to be a Netflix series? That’s what I wished as I was reading this. Maybe someone will see this review and make that happen?! A girl can dream.

Another 5 star read from Carley Fortune! This one was a second runner up to being my absolute favorite of her books. First place is Every Summer After, I still think about that one at least once a week. This Summer will be Different had such a great plot line, amazing lovable characters and was the perfect end to my summer book reading before changing gears into reading Fall themed books. This book takes place on Prince Edward Island where Lucy is a tourist who comes to vacation on the island and meets Felix who is a local and shows her a good time. However little do they know that Lucy is Bridget's best friend and Felix is Bridget's brother but they have undeniable chemistry but the list of why they need to stay away from each other is long and they agree to never repeat what happened that night. Each year Lucy visits the island with her best friend Bridget and she finds herself tangled up with Felix in secret. When Bridge suddenly flees town a week before her wedding, Lucy follows her to the island and its her mission to help Bridget sort through her crisis and resist Felix. It's easier said than done. I really enjoyed the twist we got towards the end on what was happening with Bridget, I also really loved the chemistry that Lucy and Felix have. The whole book was just a great summer read.
