Well that was a pretty perfect romance. I really love romance books that have more than just romantic love, but also friendship love. It’s such a great parallel story. Bridget and Felix were perfect.

3 ⭐️ I went back and forth on this one. The premise made it difficult for me to suspend my disbelief. I love my friends. Idk if I’m getting on a 2 hour flight to their hometown two weeks before her wedding (where I am a vendor???) with NO justification. If Bridget had just been honest with Lucy from the jump it would have made more sense for me. The “I can’t talk about it but I need you here” was tough. Especially when Lucy didn’t know if the wedding was still on. As a vendor that puts her small business in a crazy spot. I didn’t buy into Lucy and Felix until later on (4-5 years in maybe??) and then the third act breakup felt so forced. Felt like we could have been doing some of that personal growth over the full 5 years not in a last 6 months montage.

I liked this one a lot. I loved Lucy and Bridget’s friendship. And the secret connection between Lucy and Felix was great with the tension building over the five years. I did find the 372 references to her hair braids and nightgowns a little weird, but with the nod to Anne of Green Gables, I guess it checks. (Paperback)
