Okay guys, another Carley Fortune book that I loved! I didn’t fall quite as hard for this one as I did for ESA and OGS, but it was still such a good read.
The setting was perfection. It takes place partly on Prince Edward Island and partly in Toronto. And again: Carley really knows how to write a backdrop. I need a one-way ticket to PEI right now!
Lucy and Felix were absolutely adorable together. I loved their situationship, the yearning, the teasing, and all their fun and sweet summer moments.
I also really enjoyed the spicy scenes. They were sexy without being overly detailed. And yes, the bathroom scene was hot as hell.
Another thing I adored was how Lucy and Felix regularly sent each other little gifts like the books and flower seeds. It was just too cute. And Felix supporting Lucy’s farm dream was so sweet.
What I didn’t love as much was how Bridget summoned everyone without explaining why. Lucy dropped everything for her, and Bridget made her wait about a week before sharing what was going on. That felt a bit frustrating.
But in the end, Bridget really grew on me, and when Lucy and Bridget had to say goodbye at the airport, I almost cried.
All in all, this was another amazing summer romance from Carley Fortune!

Fun summer read. Set near where my family goes each summer so lots of fun. Went to the woollen mill where the lovely blankets are made. It’s all real - the oyster bar, the blankets!
Just not for me. I almost DNFd a few times because the best friend was so awful and the plot was so repetitive (vague internal angst about last year, internal angst about not arguing with Bridgette because reasons, and internal longing for Felix - and repeat)
The writing was nice and the FMC kinda grew on me. To me, the premise was more interesting in concept than in execution.
And the reason the best friend made everyone adjust their lives for a week and create massive drama in the lead up to her wedding? Absolutely ridiculous. Over the top. Just absolutely not. I’d consider cutting her from my life for that level of theatrics and drama for that reason.
The writing did make me miss the region, though.

I had read this author before and was very interested in the setting of this book, Prince Edward Island since I had been there before. It did not disappoint! Bit of a Toronto base as well, and just as in a book I had just read many MANY references to Anne of Green Gables (and, why not it's fantastic). Good characters and good story.
