I enjoyed this. I listened to the audio while following along with the physical book, which Stephen King reads. It was a fairly quick read, which i finished in one sitting. That is not normal for me while reading King, I think having the audio as well helped a bit. I would like to know what happened to Scott, what caused his
condition and how everyone else is doing now that he is gone. I mean they just watched him 'elevate' away, they must be curious what actually happened to him. Also how are they not going to tell anyone? It would be so hard for me to keep that a secret.

I know that King writes stories of various genres and uses different methods of storytelling - however - this incredibly short novella was not your typical type of Stephen King story.

The MMC continues to become Weightless while putting effort into reconciling uncomfortable situations with his neighbors and the town as a whole. His actions allow for the community to put aside their differences and embrace "progressive" temperaments.

I hated that he lost his best friend, Bill D. Cat, because he couldn't pet him and the cat was scared - that was heartbreaking.

Only after I finished the book did I realize that it's a metaphor for the state of our culture and how one can choose to overcome differences and "rise above hatred."

What I did expect was an explanation or inclination of what caused the MMC's condition and/or any of the questions about it that King raises, so I am slightly disappointed. However, knowing that the novella is more of a metaphor and life-lesson, I suppose the point is NOT to answer those questions because, in the end, they don't matter.

The ending was kinda sad but it's definitely not King's best work by any means

There isn't much to day except that I loved this book. Super quick read, nice story, and none of the traditional graphic horror elements people expect from Stephen King.

Enjoyable, short. A little less folksy than normal.
