I just don’t like musical theater kids man. This was all theater kids, especially in the first 150 pages I almost DNF 😩
Also I just fell like compared to funny you should ask, it wasn’t as good. She follows the same “equation” as that one in terms of how long the build up was and everything. I did like the references to FYSA though!
She is such a great writer so I will definitely keep reading her stuff

3.5 - fmc not super likable - the chemistry was fine but just felt a bit random
Cute! Fun! Flashbacks to theatre camp! Brought back entirely too many memories of being 16 and in love with the one straight boy in the show!
Not much to say about this one... A 2nd chance romance for the theater lovers out there.
It was good but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as her first one, Funny You Should Ask. I loved those characters! These ones were just okay (which made me not as invested in the story). Might be your cup of tea though. It explores teen/YA stardom, the court of popular opinion, and of course the theater.

childhood friends to lovers. one of my soft spots. i absolutely adored this book. i love elissa sussman's style and organization of her stories, they are always so hard to put down. i liked both of these characters and their claim to fame was an easy pull for me <3 im a pop girlie first and human second.
