This book is like if Stephen King’s gunslinger Roland was a post-apocalyptic cyborg who got to live his love story.

This might be TR's best book (that i've read, anyway) - even though i guess the cover sort of alludes to it now that I'm looking closer, I actually wasnt expecting the whole post-apocalyptic robot/human aspect of it - which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. & the relationship between R & L was pretty good too. I'd also recommend Good Deeds by Kathryn Moon if you want another similar read.

I tried to like Lara, but
after she physically abused Ronin I couldn't stand her. Even if he was technically a "robot", he was a robot with feelings! She also hits her nurse who made sure she survived from her wounds.
Her life story was truly sad, but her actions were questionable.

Despite the unpleasant characteristics posed by Lara's character, I was determined to uncover more about Ronin's story, which ultimately kept me engrossed in the book.

Ronin's character was the highlight of the story for me! The way he was portrayed and developed throughout was so captivating that I found myself completely immersed in his journey. Although the romance element was present in the story, I couldn't help but feel that it took away from Ronin's character, who was strong and interesting enough to carry the plot on his own.

The way the story concluded completely shattered me emotionally, leaving me in a state of uncontrollable tears!
