Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
I liked it. The overall story was good. I just couldn't get into the multiple POVs. If you enjoy a slow thriller with multiple POVs from different places this is for you!

This mystery/thriller opens the night a teenage girl goes missing five years ago. Told through multiple POVs, across multiple locations, this one will keep you turning those pages.
Are some of the twists and turns predictable? Sure, but it’s still such a fun summer read.
If you’re a fan of audiobooks, I recommend listening to this one. It features multicast narration. Helen Laser, John Pirhalla, and Paul Dateh make you feel like you’re watching this play out on the big screen.
I received an advance copy of the ebook from Minotaur Books and an advance copy of the audiobook from Macmillan Audio. All review opinions are my own.
If Something Happens to Me is a twisty thriller that kept me up at night reading. It is multiple POV, following mainly three characters that originally we don’t know how they connect but as you keep reading they collide. I’d recommend going in slightly blind to this, but it mainly follows Ryan- his girlfriend Alison was kidnapped five years ago without trace and he was eventually cleared as a suspect. Now on a college trip in Italy, he gets a call that her car is pulled from the river without her in it, but with two men in the car and a cryptic note. The story also follows Poppy, a new detective assigned to Alison’s case, and a gang lord from Philadelphia.
As a seasoned thriller reader I guessed what was going on a little early but the first half of the book had me up all night with the twists and wanting to see what happens. The second half had a little less mystery and more suspense and it was took it down from a five star read to four stars. The chapters were short which I love and the writing and characters engaging. Perfect for getting out of a reading slump.
Thank you Netgalley, Alex Finlay, and Minotaur Books for receiving the ARC in return for an honest review.

ARC from Macmillan audio, these are my own thoughts and opinions. Thank you for the ARC!
This was a really twisty and fun read! This is my first Alex Finlay book, and it did not disappoint. I did predict a small part of the ending, otherwise it would have been a 5 star read. Other than that, I don't have any complaints or notes! The full cast narration was PHENOMENAL and really made it an immersive experience. I appreciate a book with time hops that are done correctly, and this one delivered on that as well. Add this to your TBR!
