This was my first Alex Finlay book, and it didn't disappoint. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Full of mystery, action, and suspense, I did not want to put it down.
I truly enjoy this author’s writing style! I didn’t find this to be much of a thriller but it definitely carried some suspense. I was a bit confused keeping the characters straight - it also took me more than halfway through to realize that there were chapters going between past & present - as this is an unedited copy, I hope that is specified in the final version. All in all, a good story that kept me interested.
THANK YOU to the author, Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This book is super bingeable. While I was able to guess some of the outcomes it didn’t feel like it took anything away from the story.

This thriller is a rollercoaster ride of suspense that will keep you guessing until the very end. Ryan's haunted by a traumatic event from his past, and things take a crazy turn when a shocking discovery reignites the nightmare.
The story unfolds from multiple perspectives, including a small-town sheriff's deputy and a Philadelphia mobster (talk about unexpected allies!). Each character brings a fresh angle to the mystery, keeping you on the edge of your seat.
Finlay is a master of the unexpected twist. Just when you think you've figured it out, BAM! The plot takes a sharp turn, leaving you wanting more. This isn't your average whodunit – it's a mind-bending exploration of trauma, guilt, and the lengths we go to for those we love.

I really enjoyed Finlay's 'The Night Shift' from a few years ago, so I was excited to jump into this one!
The plot itself is outlandish but in an entertaining way. The characters are fun and easy to read. There are a couple low stakes twists but it's all wrapped up with a satisfying conclusion.
Huge thank you to Netgalley and St.Martins Press for an advanced copy of the perfect book to binge over a long weekend!
