I was reading this while waiting for a doctors appointment and of course they came to get me right in the middle of the epilogue and I have never been more frustrated with the timing of life

As I was reading #10 in this series, I realized I'd missed something. So I checked w/ goodreads and found that, yes, I'd missed #9. It was one that should not be missed. As always, Sheriff Longmire needs back-up and he's got the best there can be

This was totally a four star book, and a worthy addition to the series, but then...the end. The ending.

It wasn't that it was BAD bad, but it was hackneyed. And the way it was written was hackneyed. Which is unusual for Johnson, who usually manages otherwise cliched plot points so deftly.

I'm still crushed that I'm about to finish all the books currently out.

Man, he's really good.

Quite possibly one of the most "Wyoming"books yet. Oil is at the heart of the story, just like it's the heart of this state.

Out of all the books I have read in this series this was the best one yet. The ending made me very very sad, but was a great adventure in bringing down a polygamist group of oil stealin heathens.
