Truthfully, the past 4 books could have been condensed into one but thank gawd we got 4 of them because these things are an addiction I don't want to end.
SO GOOD
I love this one as much as the rest of the series. Willa and the Abecurses are some of my favroite characters!! I cannot wait to see what happens in the next one

This story is full of surprises. What a fun series! I'm loving all the weird powers of the gods and the strange worlds they rule over. There's definitely something rotten with the creation god and some of the others, but Willa and her boys seem to be taking care of business. Willa is an anomaly and her adventure in discovering herself is fun! I'm loving this!

Four books in, and I’m still having so much fun with this series and these characters. I think this might be my favorite, but I’ll have to read the entire series again after Pain comes out to be sure. There were some things that really bugged me in this one, but there were also so many moments that I absolutely loved.
This book begins with Willa and the Abcurses hiding out in Topia. No one is sure what exactly she is now, or what she’s capable of, but they know she needs to steer clear of Rau and Staviti. This is Willa though, so of course Staviti calls a meeting of all the gods and the group decides to disguise Willa so she can join them. In the meeting Staviti announces that he’s sending all of the betas to a new school he’s created to individually train the best sol in each area/discipline. Basically every god now has a beta so Staviti says the only way for sols to ascend is to have third tier gods. Our group heads off to the new school sneaking Willa in with them as a chaos student. It turns out Cyrus is the headmaster and Emmy is his assistant. For once there’s no battle in the arena, but Siret and Rome do make Willa a blue dress, and she does sneak back in to Topia. We learn more about Staviti and Willa, crazy things happen, and I can’t believe there’s only one book left. At least I think there’s only one more book?
I have two complaints that I want to vent about before I move on to the things I like. First up is Emmy. There was a hint of this in the last book, but now she and Cyrus have a love/hate relationship. Lots of fighting that is also sort of flirting. I don’t like that dynamic in general, and I really didn’t get their attraction to each other. It seemed weird and out of character for both of them. And didn’t Emmy’s boyfriend die like a month ago? It also seemed odd to take her away from Blesswood when up to now her entire storyline has revolved around the academy. Obviously she wouldn’t have been in the story if she hadn’t joined Willa, but it felt a little too convenient.
The second thing that bugged me had to do with the plot in general. These books have always gone on plot tangents, and for the most part I felt like it matched Willa’s thought process so I went with it. Now that we’re so close to the end I’m getting a little frustrated. I had faith that everything was going to come together in the end, that we would eventually get back to all the abandoned plot lines. I’m not so sure anymore. Instead we’re introducing new storylines. It didn’t help that the trip to the new school felt completely pointless. It seems obvious that Staviti’s story was bogus, not that I understood it anyway, but did they go there just because the authors wanted the characters to be in a school setting again? That section felt like a waste of time.
For the most part I’m done complaining so on to what I did like. The first half of the book I was really into the plot. I loved Siret disguising Willa, and the guys reactions to her. That part was really funny and oddly sweet. I was excited about Willa meeting the Abcurse parents, and I enjoyed seeing how they all interacted with each other. Willa experimenting with her powers was also great, and the dickhead scene was my other favorite moment in this book. I wanted to know more about what happened to Sienna, and what the new school was like. I wish the book had explored those two storylines more.
Every review I talk about how much I love Willa. She is still the best thing about this series for me. I thought it was a little bittersweet that she wasn’t as clumsy in this one. I always liked seeing the guys catch her, and her accidents were more often than not amusing. It was sometimes a little much though so this really is a good development. I’m also very happy that Willa has taken her relationship with the guys to the next level, but I have to admit a part of me misses the pact and how the group interacted with each when they were just friends. I’m absolutely okay with the tradeoff though. I love it when the guys surround Willa, that they always support her and think she’s perfect just the way she is.
Maybe it’s a good thing that I have to take a break in this series before I get to read Pain. It’s going to be hard to say goodbye to these characters. This has been such a fun trip, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

DNF @ 24%. What was funny and charming in books 1-3 has suddenly become overkill. Extremely vital moments Willa can't even focus enough to not give herself away while in disguise, or be remotely chill around the in-laws. It seems like it multiplied in this book, and it becomes very clear that Willa is just...very unintelligent. And it's not funny anymore. She has so much information in her head from what people have told her over the last three books, and she doesn't have the ability to process any of it. I no longer see what the MMCs see in her and honestly they've gone a bit bland personality-wise in this book (and the end of the last book) as well. From the way things have been set up, it seems there will be a bunch of nonsense in this book to fill enough space to pop another book out so there can be one for each of the five MMCs. And I'm no longer in it for the RH because it's clear the smut isn't very good. I got bored and spoiled myself with a bunch of reviews of the other books and feel like I have a good idea of how the story ends so I'm done with this series.

Strength started off kind of slow but it was still an enjoyable part of the series! I loved seeing Willa grow into her self and discover new aspects to her abilities and who she is. I love her dynamic with the Abcurse brothers and seeing Cyrus' amused annoyance towards them all. Like he's annoyed that he cares about them.
