I won the book a while back in a giveaway, it's a signed copy and I didn't check the synopsis, I just jumped into the story this morning. I have to say, I'm quite surprised by the story and I loved it actually.
"The Cursed Countess" is the first novel in the Daring Drake Sisters.
In this book we follow Lady Theresa 'Tessa' Stanhope and Jack Raynerson, as gossip keeps going about the death of all three of Tessa's husbands in five years. Jack works for a company hired to uncover prof of Tessa's involvement in the late husband, the Lord Stanhope.
Let's just say that seduction comes into play, society and gossip never disappoints in making a story dramatic and quite funny really. And things don't appear as it seems...
I love historical romances as some of you may already know. So this books was quite a delightful read.
I loved to uncover all the information about Tessa and her past and family. And I love seeing the sisterhood between the Drake sisters, I especially loved Louisa and her daring ways, very different than the rest of the society and what was considered "proper for a woman".
I did love to read all the Romance aspect of this story, with all of Tessa and Jack's lovely and passionate moments. And the final chapters made sense and made me curious to know more about the series and the other sisters.
Overall, I enjoyed it and although I had my suspicions about the truth, I didn't expect certain moments in the plot, which made me excited with each page.
