The ending actually destroyed me. It's Romeo and Juliet, I knew they would die but it still hurt. I didn't expect it.

SOOOOOOO GOOD. I cannot stress it enough. 
Writing the second book in a duology is an enormous task and Chloe Gong nailed it. Our Violent Ends is written in just the right way that moves this book along while still tying in events from These Violent Delights. 

Roma, baby, I love you. 



Be ready to cry.

kind of want to reread r&j now for the first time since 9th grade english class lol. the plot is a little harder to follow than TVD in part bc there are so many POVs but i did appreciate getting to know more about the "side" characters. i havent really read a lot of r&j adaptations so i cant compare but i did find myself going "i see..."/"hmm..."/"ah.."/"interesting..." several times as i realized what plot points were being adapted. so that was fun. enjoyed it a lot actually

(Spoiler review) oh my gosh. Once again horror and politics are SO not my vibe when I’m reading. BUT. There’s just something about Chloe Gongs writing that ensnared me. I HAD to know what happened and I HAD to know if Roma and Juliette ended up together! I still wish she had killed her parents, and as with a couple other things I’m not entirely sure what the ending meant so I feel… fulfilled but also not. It’s been a long time since I read something that left me with that feeling at the end of a book. I will be very intrigued to see what this author comes up with in the future.
