Miriam Blum is the flawed bisexual Jewish protagonist of my heart. The relationships in this book feel very real and well developed. The love story between Miriam and Carrigan’s is just as central to the story as the love story between Miriam and her LI is and I love that aspect of the story. Give this book a read and prepare to make room in your heart for Carrigan’s and the women of Carrigan’s. And Cole.
Can’t wait for the second book!

AAAAA. THIS ONE MADE ME CRY TOO. 😭😭😭
i decided to vaguely participate in Christmas in July and i've been meaning to read this one so i knew i had to start out with it!
i was not prepared to love this story and these characters so fiercely. Miriam and Noelle and Hannah and Cole and The Matthewses and Elijah and EVEN TARA A LITTLE BIT. they are all such beautifully written, emotional, wonderful beings and i just want to give them all HUGS. the emotional baggage they have and the lengths they're able and willing to go to heal and make their lives so plentiful and beautiful had me in TEARS.
i loved watching Miriam and Noelle's tension and attraction unfold; it was fucking Delicious. i love slow burn and sexual tension and UGH. this was it. this was it, y'all. i wanted a little more on page action, but mostly just because that's what i'm into right now. i love open door romance. but this was done so well because it left me ACHING for more.
stunning. beautiful. wonderful. no notes. read it. ❤️

This book was everything I hoped it would be. This is a Jewish Christmas romance novel filled with quirky characters in a cozy Christmas-obsessed small-town setting. I mean, there's even caroling. Despite all of the cuteness, it does have a serious side, with content warnings for alcoholism, family trauma, and abuse.
My favorite part was that every character, from main characters Miriam and Noelle down to small-town lawyer Elijah, was a fully-formed individual, with their own quirks and personalities. And, this was not a small cast of characters. Also, you rarely see butch representation in a romance novel, but Noelle fills that role so well.
If the content warnings don't bother you, definitely read this book this holiday season (and probably next holiday season, too!)
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was sweet but angsty book. I went in knowing nothing about it expect that it involved a Christmas tree farm, so I wasn’t expecting it to be about two characters who have a lot of trauma and trust issues coming together and trying to make it work. I enjoyed the book, although I think it was a bit repetitive at times with how much they went over their feelings, a little more could’ve ended up on the cutting floor to make it tighter. But I was entertained and the side characters were fun and engaging, which I’ve notice lately isn’t as common on newer contemporary books. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Really enjoyed this although felt like some more could have been explored, but I loved the found family and repairing of themselves and dealing with hard stuff. I desperately hope we get everyone’s story, especially Cole’s. Loved Cole.
