If you can get over Sydney biting her bottom lip every two seconds, and Jax pulling his hair, this is quite a good read. The sex scenes were a little too graphic, but the storyline made up for it.

Sydney's reasons for holding back were very valid! I love how J.Wilder wrote the surprise meeting with that character at the end.

If you loved Elle Kennedy's The Deal, this should be up your radar. Similar storyline, similar tension, similar friendship, similar daddy issues (not exactly though).

One of the better hockey romances that I’ve read on KU. The story was funny and heart melting. There was some good tension between Jax and Sidney. I loved the banter and the way Jax treated Sid (like she deserved). I wish the reason for the third act was brought up sooner BUT the end was adorable and had me swooning!!

This was very lighthearted, fluff with low angst.

We have Jax’s finding a girl that makes him feel after so long of being emotionally unavailable due to something very recent happening in his life.

Then you have Sidney,  who has built these rules off of the past, and the present faults of her father. Those rules have helped her succeed in life, and also made her unavailable for love.

I just love how he went about her rules one by one showing her that he wouldn’t be her past and her disappointing present. Yes there is some Lowes but their Lowe’s weren’t all that bad in the grand scheme of hockey romances.

What’s crazy is I cared more about the plot than the actual space because I loved their relationship together.

This was a very good read for me, and I would highly recommend it.

If you are looking for big character building, background, literally any story about their careers or other friendships, skip this one.
If you're looking for fluff, pining & some smut then this is a decent way to spend a couple of hours.

Not a big fan of insta love or miscommunication which there was a lot of in this book.
While Sidney was built out & had background, Jax really wasn't.
She bites her lip A LOT!
the other characters introduced seemed like they should have have a bigger role in the story  but after the first third of it they were barely mentioned again
Same with their mutual losses, mentioned once and swept under the rug
He left his best friends & team without a second thought & no one said anything.....

It did bring back some sweet memories of my college boyfriend who i met at a hockey game so I certainly enjoyed that part of the story.
