Overall there was a lot I liked but there were also a lot of basic issues. Wish there was more world building so we could understand the power structures in the city and the gender roles. However I really enjoyed most of this, jasmine and jafars dynamic is what Zade and Adeline wish they could be. The spice was 10/10. Definitely reminded me of neon gods only I like them better than hades and Persephone. Found jasmines inner dialogue annoying and repetitive at times. Liked the ending despite it being very unrealistic (them working out that is) and loved seeing jasmine take her power back. Fun read, quick read, had some issues.

meh, I loved the concept but felt like dnf'ing so many times throughout the book. also very hard not to think of Jafar from the cartoon which, is on me, not the author, but definitely influenced my enjoyment of the book.

I absolutely love this take on Jasmine and Jafar. It was the story I didn’t know I needed. I’ve always liked the villains but this solidified it for me. I can’t wait to read the rest.

Ugh was doing this on audiobook which was taking forever. DNF at 70%, as I don’t have the urge to finish it rn but plan to soon.
