I wasn’t sure if I wanted to start this book (because series are a commitment and I had read that it ended on a cliff hanger) but once I started reading I didn’t want to stop. I thought the writing was so clever and gripping. In the middle of the story my jaw literally dropped and the ending left me speechless. I can’t wait to see what happens in the third book. Well done, Neal.

Unfortunately this reads very much like a 'middle book'. A lot of it felt like filler and then a sudden rush to build tension and excitement at the end to tee up the third book... Such a shame because I really enjoyed the first book and the premise. Unfortunately the premise wasn't enough to carry this second book for me.
