Tate isn’t the kind who goes after a married woman. He took his shot the second he heard Harper got divorced. He’s been watching her, waiting for the appropriate moment to present itself. And now he might have a chance.
But will his age stop Harper from trying a relationship with him? Will she never see him as a man? He's the right man for her, and he’s determined to prove it.

Waiting is an age-gap romance between an older woman and a swoon-worthy Irish younger man. It’s a brilliant mix of multicultural romance and comedy; family and friendship.

Xavier Neal has a unique way of writing. I’ve always enjoyed her books simply for the way she writes them. But something about this one felt off to me. Maybe it’s the fast pace, and I didn’t get to see how they got from the bartender and his crush to boyfriend and girlfriend. The many "prior to's" and "occurs" I've read got annoying after a while.

It’s a quick-read book that made me feel a cocktail of emotions. I’ve laughed, swooned and fallen in love. Harper is a strong female character that pushed Tate to aim higher. I’d say she’s perfect for him because of that. She knew he could accomplish so much and gave him a nudge. Tate is also an interesting character with his charm and these sexy sentences in different languages. Even though most of the time I didn’t understand a word when he or his family spoke in a different language and I stopped translating after a while. It still showed how different cultures can mix beautifully.

I have to admit, this book was more than I expected. And I’m glad I got the chance to read it. Just like I said, I wished I got more details on the first days of their relationship, but I guess that wasn’t the most important part of their story.
So... Tate. He's pretty much the perfect book boyfriend. Maybe a little too perfect, but that's what makes this book so darn delicious. I'm pretty sure if you look swoon-worthy up in the dictionary, you'll find Tate! His older woman love interest, Harper, is relatable and everything I'd expect Tate to fall for. This whole book is great for a few hours of escapism. And there's no way to read this one without at least a smile, but I'm betting there will be at least a few chuckles and all-out laughs along the way. The story is full of quirky characters, it's engaging and low-angst, and it's hot enough to set the curtains on fire. So, if you need a little pick me up after a long day or week, I'd definitely recommend Xavier Neal's Waiting.
This book was the perfect blend of love and spice. Tate (MMC) is one hot gentleman that knows what and who he wants. So when he learns Harper is now single, he does not waste time letting her know that he is completely in. Harper (FMC) sees the age gap and fears the feelings towards Tate may be seen as wrong, but there is nothing wrong about the way this man makes her feel. The multicultural dynamics these two bring together is truly filled with love and joy. I found myself smiling a lot throughout this book. I loved it and fully recommend it.

Waiting is remarkable age gap romance. Harper is an divorced woman looking for her second chance at love. But while talking with a younger, hot server Tate, she feels something new which blindside. But Tate wants to make her see how beautiful and desires she is. I love to watch them fall in love and see them find their happiness.
Waiting was a great age-gap read!! Tate has always had a thing for Harper but she was married. I loved reading there story. This is my favorite book by Xavier Neal. I received a free ARC for my honest opinion. I recommend you read this book.
Unfortunately I didn’t connect with this writing style. I didn't find the copious amount of sex interesting or even sexy. The storytelling was disjointed and it didn’t flow to me. I do want to try another book by this author though.
I think this may be Neal's best work to date! Tate and Harper were combustible. The chemisty, the banter, the growth and maturity; this was as close to perfection as one can get. Tate is an absolute swoony charmer with a heart of gold. Harper is the older woman with a sad backstory. She really pushes Tate into becoming his own man, she encourages him to mature and to take life a bit more seriously. Tate is there for Harper in similar ways, teaching her to let loose and have fun and isn't that what relationships are all about? The balance of one another? The builidng on each other's strengths and weaknesses? These are two people/characters that you want to root for and secretly wish you were in their shoes. If you want a fun, engaging, age gap romance with some laughs and serious moments, don't sleep on this book. I guarantee you'll fall in love with these two.
