Only not 5⭐️ because the ending did not quite stick the landing imo.

The speach on the witness stand as well as the journalists reaction to it felt weirdly naive and basic in contrast to the rest of the novel.

Overall still a very gripping and interesting take on the justice system and sexual assault though.

Excellent work, very moving. The pacing was excellent, and it was all very well-written. I liked that it was relatively non-linear in its storytelling, while also being divided right down the middle into a before-and-after that I feel so many survivors can relate to.

This book is about the rape of a defence barrister by someone she knows.

it happens right in the middle of the book.

There are several peripheral crimes mentioned, due to her job as a barrister. This also takes place during the COVID pandemic, so there is occasional mention of this in throughout.
