A warm blanket of a book. I've been an Anne of Green Gables fan since childhood but this was my first time picking up the Emily series, another coming of age tale about an orphan taken in by rigid adults. I love the way L.M. Montgomery weaves a sense of hopefulness and whimsy into even tragic circumstances, always leaving the reader with a sense of beauty and wonder about the world and other people. The audio is read by Megan Follows, which was an absolute delight.

Returning to this old favorite is such an enjoyable reading experience! Perhaps the third or fourth time I've read it now and it only gets better. The characters are richer than ever and the story refreshing as always. I love Emily and her flights of fancy even more (dare I say it) than the wonderful Anne Shirley.
Not quite Anne of Green Gables, but Emily is very endearing in the same way. A lovely summer vacation read to remember the days when Anne was your best friend.

well, aku baca buku ini pas masih smp. so far, aku suka background year theme nya dan aku suka gimana penulis mendeskripsikan gambaran New Moon. Tapi aku merasa bukunya terlalu bertele-tele dan konfliknya tidak terlalu terasa. Berharap mungkin ada versi film nya atau mungkin sudah ada tapi aku belum nonton. Karena di Anne of Green Gables yang difilmkan sama Netflix jadi with an E aku suka sih ya.
