Wow - I have been misguided in the past. I have not enjoyed the fantasy genre previously but holy crap this one sucked me in from the opening pages and I literally never put it down. It made the trip out to dinner and it was with me everywhere I went today. Filled with mystery and mayhem, magic and imagination but it was not all just fluff. The strong heroine in Kerrigan and the wickedly shameless hero in Fordham Ollivier were both characters that were a perfect union with each other. Love and futures know no bounds!!

I don't read fantasy. I have never liked it at all, and no matter how highly a fantasy book is recommended to me, I just can't get motivated to read one. Until this one (and I even procrastinated with it!). This book has changed my mind about Fantasy reads.

As soon as I finished it, I called a friend and told her she HAD to read it. My biggest take away was that this is the kind of book I want my daughter to read. The main character, Kerrigan, possesses so many qualities I want my daughter to see in herself. She is strong. She is self-assured. She is scared, but has the bravery to overcome her fears. She fights for what she knows to be right, and she trusts her gut.

On top of the characters (they are all pretty amazing), there is this wonderful story that transports you to another place. I finished this book in less than 24 hours because I could not put it down. (That's saying a lot for someone who isn't typically a fantasy reader.) Go read this one; even if fantasy isn't usually your thing, I have a hunch you'll change your mind too.

House of Dragons is the first book in this fantastical world of faes, half-faes, humans, and dragons. And this is also my first ever read from the author. The story is about Kerrigan, a half human, half fae born into nobility but was left abandoned by her father in the Draco Mountain. She found her home in the House of Dragons and made it her mission to earn her place into Society. But not everything falls into plan.

The storyline, characters and world building is just spot on for me. The way the author weaves the story is pure magic that I find myself so immersed into it, it feels like you live in this magical world. You will definitely live and breathe it. The characters are very diverse and the story is told in multiple POV, but focal point is mostly Kerrigan's. This is a slow burn, young adult romance and believe me, I'm slowly dying inside for Kerrigan and Fordham to just kiss already, LOL. Loved it and highly recommend for fans of this genre.
