Rina's Thoughts

It was an okay read. Sedated, dragged a little and didn't hit all the spots. I will say this, if you are religious I advice against this book. There are something that were a little 'blasphemous' and it would be a real turn off an offensive to religious readers. There is one part where they mention Yahweh that quickly made me want to quit reading. But I chose to skip those parts instead and read the rest of it.This review was originally posted on Cocktails and Books.

The writing was fairly pacy, keeping going throughout the story.
The story itself had lots of highs and lows - between drug lords, human traffickers, extremist cults, barbaric practices, kidnap, corrupt officials, inst love affairs, second comings - I'm sure there are more I've missed as well.
The issue of drug cartels and the extremists are hard thought provoking.
The rescue is more out of the A team!
Then there are the calls to god and out of body experiences.
So quite a mash up of different themes.
Not quite my cup of tea 2.5*

Angie’s infant son is kidnapped by her cult leader father and spirited off to Mexico. When the U.S. authorities can’t locate baby Jake, Angie goes looking for him through the friend of a friend.

Enter Alejandro, the drug cartel boss lady’s right hand man, a hunk if there ever was one, and a man with a secret. He’s an undercover agent looking for a little justice of his own. Bad weather keeps them from setting out to the cult’s mountain hideaway immediately, giving rise to lots of chemistry between this pair.

Buchbinder’s story held my interest and kept me turning pages. Enjoyed it!
